As promised, I am exploring the various attributes of the three transformative planets - Saturn, Uranus and Pluto. And since Saturn recently moved direct in Aquarius, I thought I would start there.

Saturn moving direct in Aquarius is really welcome news! And here is why - - -
Saturn represents our 3-dimensional world that we live in. The day-to-day work to stay upright, moving forward and generally getting stuff done. When Saturn is retrograde as it was most of this summer - we can find that getting anything done can take twice the effort.

Saturn rules concrete, structures, foundations, accounting, bookkeeping, authority and all the work it can take to create a life that sustains body, mind and soul. When we are challenged in these areas, we are being held back in order to make sure our foundations are strong, can withstand the test of time, weather the storm, etc etc. We have seen, failing infrastructures have hobbled our economy worldwide. Not to mention the big freeze in Texas this past winter. So our priorities right now need to be building sounds systems and structures that can carry us into the future.

The Future is what Aquarius is all about. Aquarius governs electrical grids, scientific breakthroughs, communication systems and social networks - to name a few. Saturn in this sign is helping move all these interconnected systems forward. Or helping to break them up and hold them accountable to the greater social good. For Aquarius also rules legislatures and governing bodies. So from greater social reform, (think Universal Daycare) to Facebook accountability - Saturn in Aquarius is doing its transformative thing.
On a personal, practical level Saturn in Aquarius has been winnowing us down in order to examine our core values and attributes, so that we can focus on those things that really matter to us. Saturn in Aquarius is Saying "No" to jobs that are unfulfilling and underpaid while helping us find new jobs and create new businesses that will carry us forward into a future. A future that not only provides for us, but also helps to lift up our neighbor, community and world.
Saturn is about responsibility, giving us the ability and capability to respond.
Of course this transformation at the foundational level is being aided by Pluto, Lord of Death and Rebirth, as the planet moves through Capricorn. More on those transformative powers next week.
